Hans Poulis, who was born in Rotterdam in 1957, started his career as a manager with Schaap Citroen Jewellers in 1984. He left this company as Director Marketing & Sales in 1992 to set up his own company Poulis Hontele. From a one person company, Poulis Hontele expanded into a sizeable promotional product specialist. In 2009 Hans Poulis sold all shares in his company and continued his work as Chairman of the Platform Promotional Products (Dutch Industry Association) and as President and CEO of the European Promotional Products Association (EPPA).
In 2011, Hans Poulis became the CEO of IGC Global Promotions where he manages a network of 52 companies in 46 countries. The group has an annual turnover of approximately € 395 million and some 1800 staff members around the world. The group also has an office in Hong Kong.
Together with IGC Global Promotions, Hans Poulis established IGC International in 2017, an agency in Rotterdam, which brings IGC Global Promotions’ worldwide knowledge of local markets together. IGC International (www.igc-international.com) empowers global brands to create perfect branded products.
Mr Poulis visits Hong Kong regularly and annually brings large delegations to the HKTDC Hong Kong Gifts and Premium Fairs.
Hans Poulis was elected Chairman of the NHKBA in April 2015.
In 2018, Mr. Poulis was elected as Vice Chairman of the Federation of Hong Kong Business Associations Wordwide for a period of three years. On 1st December 2021, he was elected as Chairman of the Federation of Hong Kong Business Associations Worldwide.
